At the outset, I had the responsibility of being the only designer on the team, and there was just one engineering lead as well. However, we worked together closely and cooperatively to create software that met our users' needs and aligned with our business goals. It was a collaborative effort that allowed us to achieve our objectives seamlessly.
I worked directly with the client to take their application vision to a prototyped reality. I was the solo lead designer responsible for all design activities, including research. The client had never worked with professional software designers and developers, so there was a learning curve on their end.
The client provided us with multiple examples from different industries to consider. Our main goal was to create the minimum viable project (MVP) as version 1.0 of the application. In order to achieve this, we conducted research and analysis to determine user expectations and the most effective approach to handling sensitive personal healthcare information.
To gain a comprehensive understanding of the client's needs and preferences, I conducted a series of online video interviews with both the client themselves and their staff. This approach allowed me to delve deeper into their organizational structure and work processes, enabling me to tailor my design recommendations to their specific requirements. Through a highly collaborative and iterative process, we achieved optimal design outcomes that were both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
bertmahoney.com was made for you by me—Bert—using WordPress with the Semplice theme, a variety of plugins, a sprinkling of custom programming for effect, lots and lots of coffee—actually too much coffee—and 90's hip-hop.
