A successful project because we removed and redesigned tedius workflows. This was a new application so it took time to identify the proper elements and interactions. The client was very happy with the resulting UX work and the application was handed over to software engineering.
I was the solo lead designer responsible for all design work, including user research. The client had never worked with a software development company, so there was a learning curve on the client's end to understand how we and the process work. We gained a meeting rhythm and were able to work well together.
The primary goal was to create the minimum viable project (MVP) as version 1.0 of the application. In order to achieve this, we conducted user research and analysis to determine their expectations and the most effective approach to handling sensitive personal healthcare information. We had to balance legal, finance, and healthcare privacy requirements from each industry.
To gain a comprehensive understanding of the client's needs and preferences, I conducted a series of online video interviews with both the clients themselves and their staff. This approach allowed me to delve deeper into their organizational structure and work processes, enabling me to tailor my design recommendations to their specific requirements. Through a highly collaborative and iterative process, we achieved optimal design outcomes that were both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The key was meeting rhythm. We had one meeting a week at a minimum, and earlier, we had multiple a week when deep in discovery.
